We’ve heard you, and here’s what’s next
Over the past year, hundreds of Bay Fair community members shared their transportation experiences with us through surveys, interviews, pop-up events, and our community open house — and we listened.
You told us about unsafe crossings on Hesperian Boulevard and East 14th Street, gaps in the bike network that make cycling feel stressful and unsafe, personal security concerns around the Bay Fair BART Station (especially the pedestrian undercrossing), and barriers like language access that make it harder to get around without a car.
In response, we've developed the Bay Fair Community-Based Transportation Plan (CBTP) — a list of prioritized projects designed to address these exact concerns, from safer streets and improved crossings to better-connected bike routes, upgraded bus stops, and more.
This plan reflects your voice, and we invite you to read the full Public Draft and continue sharing your feedback as we move toward adopting the plan.

The CBTP will focus on the following:
Making it easier, safer and more convenient to walk, bike, roll, or take transit to destinations within the Bay Fair Study Area
Prioritizing communities historically underserved by transportation investment.
Listening to the community to identify what it says it needs the most.
Create a list of recommended projects for Alameda County and a list for the City of San Leandro to prioritize.
