Which Criteria Were Used to Arrive at the Recommended List?

  • Streets with a history of serious crashes and conditions like high vehicle speeds that increase the likelihood of  severe crashes, or flagged by the community as feeling unsafe.

  • Corridors within one-eighth of a mile of, or connecting to, schools, parks, community centers, transit hubs, senior centers, or affordable and multifamily housing.

  • Corridors that community members identified as a top priority for improvement through Bay Fair CBTP engagement.

  • Projects included in prior plans, such as the San Leandro and ACPWA Bicycle and Pedestrian Plans or the Central County Community Connections Plan.

  • Projects in MTC Equity Priority Communities, or areas with more residents of color, lower-income households, seniors, or people with disabilities.
